Want to save money and cut carbon in your flat?

Want to save money on your bills and reduce your carbon footprint?

…then sign up your flat to the Big Green Makeover!

We are a group of dedicated volunteers helping staff and students across the Uni to reduce their carbon emissions at home by 10% in 2010. How? We visit and work with flats to help make their homes more sustainable and cheaper to live in.

How it works

Because we believe that talking face to face is a good thing, we will link your flat with a pair of trained volunteers who will guide you through the Big Green Makeover process. This will involve three visits (about two weeks apart) that will:

  1. Visit 1: Help you identify areas where savings could be made in your flat (~ 1 hour)
  2. Visit 2: Give your flat a Big Green Makeover by doing practical energy and money saving measures (~ 1 hour)
  3. Visit 3: Help you reflect on changes made and decide next steps (~ 30mins)

When is it happening?

Volunteers have been trained up and are ready to help – you decide with them a good time to visit you. To get the most out of these visits, please arrange a time when your flatmates are also around to take part!
