Photo by Southend-on-Sea in TransitionTransition Edinburgh South invites you to a free workshop series – Talking Transition - on practical responses to climate change and peak oil.
The talks are at Wed 23rd June, 7 – 9pm at the Forest Café Hall.
Transition Edinburgh South is a friendly grassroot community group, part of the Transition Mevement. Among other transition projects they have set up in Edinburgh they also put on a free workshop series to discuss practical community responses to peak oil and climate change.
The workshops run through May and June and welcome anyone interested to join. They are free and feature films, discussions, activities, talks from cmmunity groups, time for tea, networking, idea sharing and planning, as well as the opportunity to find out what’s happening and how to get involved in your community.
The June workshops have as guests three insightful speakers: transport consultant David Spaven, Dr. Mandy Meikle specialising in energy demand reduction and Pete Ritchie member of One Planet Food. After ten minute talks assigned to each guest, the workshops continue with world café style conversations on the issues of Transport, Energy and Food.
The workshop in June is the second part of the Talking Transition workshop series, but anyone is welcome to attend even if they have missed the first part. This is a great chance to make contacts, set up projects, find out how to get involved and contribute with your own transition ideas.
For more information or to sign up for the workshop access Transition Edinburgh South web page.
