written by Irina Nedelcu on July 29, 2010Our second Free Energy Advice Clinic had quite the success this Tuesday in the University’s Main Library Foyer.
On Tuesday I was present at the University Library where members of Transition Edinburgh University offered free energy advice. The project runs under the name of Free Energy Saving Clinic and is in association with the Energy Saving Trust. Our Free Clinic got quite the attention and even if we were mainly targeting library staff, we got a couple of visits from University staff members located in other buildings who were keen on finding out how to save money and energy.
Participants engaged in a play-and-learn activity which required them to arrange a series of home appliances cards in the order of their Watt consumption and were quite surprised to find out that the Electric Shower and the Kettle require most power.
Even if the Clinic was targeting mainly University Staff, we also got the attention of students who stopped for a chat on how to reduce their energy bills.
