written by Esmi Freeman on October 10, 2010Come along to watch an inspiring film about how to cycle and stay gorgeous, drink free fruit cocktails, try out some lovely ladies’ bikes, and chat to some cycling beauties about how to keep your cool on a bike in Edinburgh.
This is an event for young Ladies who want to get around on a bike without sacrificing their style.
Did you know that:
- you can colour-coordinate your helmet and your bike?
- you can cycle quite happily in heels?
- you can use leg warmers instead of cycle clips to stop your jeans getting caught in the bike chain?
- cycling is the fastest mode of transport in the city centre?
- the University of Edinburgh runs classes on cycling in the city?
- You can cycle in a ball gown?‘Beauty and the Bike’ is a short film that shows you can cycle and stay sexy; that looks need not get in the way of getting around.
Cycling is often seen as a boy’s thing; you need to be serious and wear lycra to do it properly. That’s not true!
Cycling in Edinburgh is getting easier and hot, fasionable cycle-chic ladies are getting ready to take over the city – why not join them? With free cycle-powered fruit cocktails (non alcoholic but feel free to bring your own and spice them up) and some successful-cycling girls about town to chat to about how to stay cool on a bike, this event should blow you away (without putting a hair out of place)!
