Transition Edinburgh University will host an Energy Saving Advice Clinic in support of this year’s WWF Earth Hour.

Earth Hour is an initiative started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when over 2 million people and 2000 businesses turned off their lights for an hour making a stand against climate change. Since then, a lot more territories and countries joined this initiative reaching a record of 128 countries in 2010.

Earth Hour is organized by WWF and takes place on the 26th of March, 2011 at 8.30 pm. WWF’s Earth Hour sign up challenge lists Edinburgh as UK’s number four on the county challenge.

Transition Edinburgh University will be hosting an Energy Saving Advice Clinic on Friday, the 25th of March (12-2 pm). You will find the Big Green Makeover team outside the Main Library (George Square) over lunch offering free energy saving advice. Stop by for a chat, play one of the energy saving games, learn all about the Big Green Makeover and sign up for our summer visits.

And remember to switch off your lights on Saturday the 26th at 8.30pm to give Earth a solid hour of rest.
