Here’s a fun graph – price of oil compared to the percentage of energy generated from renewable sources. The good news is that the UK has more than doubled it’s renewable energy capacity since 1975. The bad news is that oil has got 10x more expensive in that time!

‘What is permaculture??’
The word ‘permaculture’ comes from ‘permanent agriculture’ with ‘permanent culture.’ It combines an ethical framework, with an understandings of how nature works, with a design approach. This combination is then used to support the creation of sustainable, agriculturally productive, non-polluting and healthy settlements.

Transition Edinburgh University is currently only funded until the end of March this year, so we thought we should let you know what we’re trying to do about it.
After a couple of Community Meetings at the end of 2010, a funding working group was formed from a mixture of interested staff and members of the community to discuss the possibility of further funding.
